Angry Kmud Client problem.

i've been trying to compile Kmud but evertime i do the ./configure it has a probelm with the Qt libraries. i have them, their up to date, i ldconfig it but it still doesnt find them. i even added the --with-qt-libraries= with the proper directory yet still nothing. any ideas? i've tried the binary version but i screws up even before it loads.

You will need the Qt headers installed as well as the libraries to compile software against Qt.

You'll probably have a qt-headers, qt-devel or qt-source package on the distro's install disk. If not, go to http://www.troll.no and download/install the Qt from source.

Try
Code:
./configure --with-qt=/usr/local/qt/
, or wherever you put the qt source.

Telling it where the Qt libraries are (with --with-qt-libraries rather than --with-qt) won't help unless they're in different locations.

What's the error message produced by ./configure?

did that too. same error:

checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= 1.42 and < 2.0) (libraries) not found. Please check your installation!

i just today install Slackware 10 and installed EVERYTHING. but still the same error. i even download the version of the Qt libraries they had linked on their website. i looked inside the configure script and found that it checks for includes first so i know IT knows their there, but it just wont see the libraries. all the different Qt libraries are under /usr/lib/ and my /etc/ld.so.conf has all of them listed. so back to the drawing board.

The error message says that it's looking for Qt version 1 libraries. You'll probably have version 2 or 3 installed if your distribution is even remotely recent. You may need to download and install an older version of Qt.
