Telling it where the Qt libraries are (with --with-qt-libraries rather than --with-qt) won't help unless they're in different locations.

did that too. same error:
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= 1.42 and < 2.0) (libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
i just today install Slackware 10 and installed EVERYTHING. but still the same error. i even download the version of the Qt libraries they had linked on their website. i looked inside the configure script and found that it checks for includes first so i know IT knows their there, but it just wont see the libraries. all the different Qt libraries are under /usr/lib/ and my /etc/ld.so.conf has all of them listed. so back to the drawing board.
