Kmail won't retrieve e-mail. Doesn't to the request in any manner.
 

Sorry, the title should be, "Kmail won't retrieve e-mail. It doesn't respond to the request in any manner."

Kmail has suddenly stopped retrieving e-mail. It does not respond to the request in any form. It will
send e-mail, but not retrieve.

I've set up Thunderbird 2 (which I'm starting to like even more than Kmail) and Thunderbird has no problems sending or receiving.

I've checked the e- mail account setup and it is OK, nothing has changed.

Rebuilding the index files did not help.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

just forget about kmail.

i personally don't like it at all and use just thunderbird

thunderbird has more features and has no problems like you said.

also, you should be able to migrate your emails from kmail to thunderbird
