Okay, maybe this is just stupid or my misunderstanding ... and also, I'm new to Kmail.
Well, I set up the connection, IMAP for receiving and SMTP for sending mail, as required by my provider. When I checked the first time for new mail, Kmail copied the folders from my provider and the "re" or subject matter of the mails in them. When I click on a mail it loads the body.
But: I want to be able to load the bodies (plural!) of
selected mails (and sometimes also the attachments) for offline reading on my machine (I use a modem connection...). Thus I need a way to mark a selection of mails and to issue a "load them" command -- and the Kmail-documentation has a roaring silence for that topic.
Same goes for deleting on the server of my provider (without prior reading the bodies of e.g. obvious advertising/spam etc.): here I need a way to mark a selection of mails and to issue a "delete them now (or later, when I'm reconnected)" command.
HOW do I do that? As I understand it, this should be the advantage of an IMAP connection. The way Kmail works for me now I might as well use the browser interface. Any help or hints will be greatly appreciated.
Btw. the "testing the connection" button of Kmail is a marvel, it returned the correct parameters even where my provider provided
the wrong values ...
