KMail can't find addresses...

I've got plenty of addresses in KAddressBook but when I create a new email in KMail Composer and click the Select... button I just get a blank Select Recipient window.

It does show Recent Addresses on the Selected Recipients drop-down list, but none of my other addresses.

The address file seems fine. Clicking ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf opens up addreses in Konqueror, and firing off kaddressbook from the command line works fine too.

What have I missed...?
