KMail - Automatic Mail Checking

Hello all,

For the life of me, I can not seem to find the setting in Kmail that will make it automatically check for new mail every certain interval, like 5 minutes. I assume Kmail does offer this option and I am just blind.

If for some reason, Kmail does not offer this, can someone please recommend an alternative client for KDE?

Many thanks

I don't know what version your're running. Mine is for KDE2.

Go to Settings -> Configure Kmail
click on the Network button
under Accounts highlight the account and click on Modify
there should be a checkbox for Enable interval mail checking

All I have under "Modify" is three tabs, General, Advanced and Signature.

I don't see an option for automatically collecting email under any of these tabs.

Do I have the wrong version of KMail? It's the one that came with Mandrake 9.1.

Turns out Mandrake 9.1 ships with Korn, a little tray app that checks mail for you. Thats much nicer, problem solved!
