kismet on slackware 9.1

I have a laptop with slackware 9.1, kismet-feb.04.01, and linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1-pre20 drivers for my prism2 card. The drivers load for the prism card and can connect to my ap. My problem is that I can't get kismet to run. I configured kismet.conf and kismet_drone.conf but when I run kismet, I get this warnning.

WARNING: prism2source (wlan0) unable to exit monitor mode automatically. You may need to manually restart the device and reconfigure it for normal operation. Kismet exting.

Not sure what that means. This is the first time I try to set this up in slackware, I had it all running great with suse 9.0 but thats a very bloated distro and I wanted something lighter. Am I missing something? Did I forget to do something? Thanks for the help.

Hmmm -- I was able to reproduce this error by attempting to start kismet outside of my "drop" home directory. If you're running kismet as root, you'll need to set up a user id for kismet to drop to (a very quick process, let me know if you need instructions). If you're not running as root, try starting kismet from your user's home directory (e.g. /home/bobthegiantelephant).

Let me know if this helps any. :-)
