Kismet Error

Ive installed kismet, and that went fine. When I go to start it however, I get the following message:

Server options: none
Client options: none
Starting server...
Waiting for server to start before startuing UI...
Will drop privs to eklipz (1000) gid 100
No specific sources given to be enabled, all will be enabled.
Enabling channel hopping.
Enabling channel splitting.
Source 0 (orinoco): Enabling monitor mode for orinoco source interface eth0 channel 6...
FATAL: GetIFFlags: interface eth0: No such device

Then it drops me back to the shell. However, the device eth0 does exist, and its a fully functioning patched orinoco card that I am able to put into monitoring mode. Any ideas? Ive already edited /usr/local/etc/kismet.conf. Im running slackware 10 with a custom kernel.

Problem sort of solved. The problem was that in my config file, I had written "orinoco, eth0, orinoco", and it didnt like the space in front of eth0. However, now when I try to run it it tells me that there is an error because it doesnt have write permission for a file named after today's date, even though Im running it as root.
