kiosk login

Hello,
I should set up a small linux box to works as a kiosk and run a
slide show with a power point presentation. It should be done,
in order, that the system do automatically login, without requiring
any username or passwd, graphically, and launch openoffice.org impress
with a loop set up. All of these probably on a slackware distro.
I think I should set up /etc/inittab to the gui runlevel - 5 -,
but I would like to know how to prevent the login (I do not want
gnome or kde, small twm instead). Configuring xdm or skip it? (if
possible?). I am looking at OOo command line options and finding
some useful, however how to run it automatically after the X server
start?
Some years ago I thought to understand all of the booting process,
exams of the partitions and be a wizard of the *magical rc.local
trick* :-), but some questions let me with a question mark on the
head ?:-. *grin*
Bye,
tano

there was a recent article on slashdot about using kiosk mode on some ubuntu desktops in a library. It used kde though. It may be worth the trouble.

Now I look at it. There is also an how-to on tldp directory, but
is too dated (1999). However I did not want to install kde to make
it work. I changed distro to ubuntu (cause hardware change and
I can opt for a recent distro), so I know look to gdm setup.
Thanks,
tano
