Kino .76 and Ubuntu problems compiling

I'm having problems compiling Kino .76 in ubuntu breezy. When I run ./configure, it exits with the error:

configure: error: Package requirements (libglade-2.0 libgnomeui-2.0 >= 1.110.0) were not met.
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively you may set the GNOME2_CFLAGS and GNOME2_LIBS environment variables
to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for
more details.

I know I have both of these packages installed. But I'm not sure how to make the program SEE where they are.

please help.
