Question Kill Beryl When Screensaver Activates

Hello,

I've had beryl for around a month now, and I love it!
The thing is, it slows down my screensaver... sometimes to the point of lockup.
Is there anyway that I can run a script of some sort to kill beryl whenever the screensaver activates, and restart it when the screensaver is deactivated?

I'm using the standard KDE screensaver. I was thinking of replacing the /usr/bin/kdesktop_lock file with a script... but would that only work for locking the desktop?

Thanks!

I suppose it could be done with grep-ing the process of beryl and the output to kill, and then after the screensaver stops to run beryl.

Have you tried it manually? Only the blinking of the page is really annoying and takes around 5 seconds to activate beryl and to kill it also. Wouldn't it better to use a blank screensaver maybe? or a 2d one?

Yes, I've done it manually. It's just that some of my screensavers run slow...

I like my screensaver, I don't really want a blank one.

Code:
[hayden@localhost ~]$ pgrep beryl
3600
So that's how I can get the PID. But how do I go about writing the script to kill that? Also, how do I get that script to run when the screensaver comes up? I'm using the KDE slideshow screensaver.
