Kile dependencies on (K)ubuntu

Hey there,
I'm trying to install kile on my (k)ubuntu OS.
when I run the synaptic package manager for kile it says

Package kile has no available version, but exists in the database.
This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available with the contents of sources.list

Ideas?

You probably have to edit /etc/apt/source.lst (I think that's the name, haven't used a debian based for a while so I'm not 100% certain). By default the universe and multiverse repositories are commented out which you need to enable to get a lot of extra software.

I gave up on ubuntu and went back to slack :P
just to instal amsn it was even worse than kile (and amsn is a platform independent software....)
