Keymapping laptop keys

I have been setting up Linux on my new IBM T41 laptop and I have a question about keymapping. There are several extra keys on this keyboard that have special functions in Windows (IE back and forward buttons, function button, "Access IBM" button, etc.). I was wondering if there is any way I can use any of these for anything in Linux. While setting up my Fluxbox menu I used the xev program to figure out what keys are called, and each of the special ones were listed as "Unknown" or something like that and each had exactly the same information except for one of the codes listed. Is there some keymapping program that will let me use these to do anything?

Thanks,
Johnathan
