Keyboard shortcuts not working in KDE when using a second language?

Здравствуйте!

It should be noted that by "second" I mean "not whatever your default is".

Okay, my default language is English, but I'm learning Russian. So, I've added Russian as another language and have the icon in the system tray to switch.

When I switch to Russian, the keyboard switches to the Russian alphabet, but the keyboard shortcuts for menu options no longer work. Do I need to do something different to enable those? This is a pain when I'm writing a document with both English and Russian words in it (a vocabulary list) and I have to switch back to English to get keyboard shortcuts to work.

I'm running KDE 3.4 on SuSE 9.3.

Thanks,

Joe

Most likely it's because the shortcut key is Ctrl-R and not Ctrl-ya (or yu, or ...)--but what you're pressing *is* Ctrl-ya.

Does this make sense to you?
