keyboard shortcut mapping

Hello,

My apologies for bringing up windows stuff, BUT - Is there a way to map the "windows key" to the "start menu" in KDE and or Gnome?

I found some websites, and this post in particular:

keyboard shortcut for kde "start" button

But that doesn't quite cut it. In the Control Center-> Regional & Accessibility -> Keyboard Shortcuts, one can set the system to a "Windows with win key", but the short for the "start" button is ctrl+esc. It will not allow me to set the short to only the windows key.

I'd also like to know how this might be accomplished in Gnome

Thank in advance
