Unhappy Keyboard not funtioning at login

Hello all. I am having a problem with my keyboard at the login screen. I have a p/s 2 mouse and keyboard. The mouse works fine, but the keyboard is non responsive. I see the green light on the num lockbut that's it. I am running SUSE 10.0 in a dual boot with windows xp, and the mouse and keyboard work just fine in windows. I have noticed that the keyboard works when i'm in runlevel 3, but not in 5. Is there any commands i can run at runlevel 3 that maybe solve this issue? Or any other information that i can get to you? I have tired to repair the OS with the CD, but that wasn't it. Thank you for your time on this matter.

in Mdk you can have a look at /etc/X11/xorg.conf and you will see a sections like these
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard1"
Driver "keyboard"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "us(alt-intl)"
Option "XkbOptions" "compose:rwin"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection

post what the make and model of each device are and that output pls

2) you can also play with kde control centre ....accessibility....kb shortcuts etc but to change your kb go into MCC ...hardware and choose a different kb and click ok...
I use a generic 105 intĺ kb us style (most made in china for euros will work this way)

Thanks for the reply back on this. When i ran the vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf i saw my keyboard at 0, i forgot which section i saw that at. But then i forgot about SaX2. I ran SaX2 and recheck my settings, and it is working fine now.
