Keyboard Character problem
 

After installing a Radeon card and reconfiguring X, special characters are coming up instead of slashes, quotations etc. Here is a backslash (é) a double quote (È) and so on. I have compared configurations and do not see any differences. How do I change this (question mark ÉÉÉ)
