There are a few decent key loggers for windows, but I can't seem to find one for linux. For various reasons my browser crashes or my posts get lost in cyberspace and there is absolutely nothing that will prevent that from happening. The only solution I have found is using a key logger. Unfortunately, there aren't any plugins for firefox that I know of. I found a few key loggers for linux on google, but they don't seem to support USB keyboards and they are command line only. I wouldn't mind if it was CLI only, so long as it could grab what I type into a message box like this one I'm typing in right now with a USB keyboard.
I can't say I've ever had to use a key logger to troubleshoot computer problems .. your first stop is to look for log files generated by your application or in the system message log.
Unless you're looking for a keylogger for other purposes than you suggest, it will help if you provide your distro and application version

That would be like treating symptoms instead of causes.
Since you haven't posted any threads about troubleshooting your Firefox problems I suggest doing that first.
