Kernelpach on 2.6.16.5 needed for Cherry keyboard?

Hi.

I'm upgrading my Kernel from version 2.6.14.5 to 2.6.16.5, the older version needed a Kernelpatch for my Cherry CyMotion PRO keyboard, in order to capture the extra keys.

When I tryed to apply the patch to the new kernel sources, however, the patch got rejected.

I walked through the new kernel files, and found new, Cherry-specific entrys, that macht the .diff files almost perfectly.

So do I need the patches anymore, or is it safe to build my kernel without any patches?

cheers,

I checked the sources. Obviously, the Kernel developers added what needed to be patched into the Kernel.
Now, the Cherry keyboards work without any additional patches.
