Kernel version 2.6.9 fails to build
 

I'm building the scientific linux 4.2 kernel (based on red hat 2.6.9-34.EL) and I get the following error when I execute "make modules_install":

make: *** [_modinst_post] Error 143

Does anyone have an idea what's wrong?

I don't understand the error but are you using the command as root?
