Kernel upgrade

I'm wanting to upgrade my kernel from 2.4.20 to 2.4.22, to see if my audio is now covered in the new kernel.

I've download the 2.4.22 link, and also the full source from the link "F" on the same line

What should I have downloaded and what should I do next?

I'm running RH9 on an IC7-G motherboard, P4-HT 2.8Ghz, 1GB Memory, Seagate 120GB SATA drive.

Please help

you should have a tar.bz2 file of about 30MB in size ... for what you should do, I'll refer you to a sticky thread in the red hat forum
