Kernel/Source-Related Issue Help

Hi, guys! I'm new here. I'm having major issues with installing VMWare and it is a kernel-related problem. I'm running Mandrake 10.1 with kernel 2.6.8.1, but I get the error that the kernel source codes are for 2.6.8 during the configuration stage of VMWare. What can I do to solve this problem? Should I install a different kernel? If yes, then how do I do that and what files do I need?
