I have been searching the internet high and low for the answer to this problem, but either I can't seem to find the answer.
It all started when I tried to play America's Army on my computer. Apparently I didn't have the drivers installed for my nVidia GeForce FX 5700LE installed, so I went and downloaded the driver package.
Problem is, when I try to install it, it needs to build something or other using the Kernel-Source, but my Kernel Source doesn't match the version of the kernel i'm running.
I read that you can find out what kernel stuff you have installed by typing:
Code:
rpm -qa | grep kernel
and when I do that, it lists the following items:
Code:
kernel-smp-2.6.8.1.12mdk-1-1mdk
kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-25mdk
Can anyone tell me how to either
a) Get the correct matching version of my kernel-source, or
b) Update my kernel version and get a matching kernel-source with it?
I'm a TOTAL linux n00b, meaning my experience with Linux began about 2 weeks ago, so I have trouble understanding some of the more complicated stuff. Of course, any help at all is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
