kernel source

hi, I just installed the 2.6.10 kernel, but I cant find the source for it. Any RPMs that I find for kernel sources arent the right ones. If anyone has the source or maybe a link to a website that does please help me.

kernel.org is where the linux kernel source repository is.
check your /boot dir for a config file and after downloading the kernel source and untarring it, copy the config file to the kernel source directory (name it .config).

What do you mean by "are not the right ones"?. If you are using SuSE as your profile says, then all you've to do is to go into SuSE's site, choose a mirror site near you and download the "kernel-source" package.

If you want to check if you either have or not the kernel source already installed, use the following command as root, in a terminal:

rpm -qa | grep kernel

it should show you all the packages with kernel and related to it.

Good luck!

well for starters, I got the kernel from kernel.org, what I needed was the source for that kernel (which was 2.6.10) the last time I got the source for the kernel it was an RPM file for kernel 2.6.5. What I need is the rpm for the kernel source for kernel 2.6.10.
