Kernel problem

When I try to ./make.sh for ATI drivers I get this error "Kernel includes at /usr/src/linux/include not found or incomplete" I confirmed that I in /src I do not have a file called linux. How to I get these files where they need to be and what files are they? in the RH9 installation I chose to have the kernel files so im not sure what im missing. Thanks.

lets see
for rh9 the package is called
kernel-source
this should automatically populate /usr/src
traditionally there has been a symlink in /usr/src called just "linux" pointing to the current running kernel source code directory
the symlink created by kernel-source in rh9 is called "linux-2.4" i bet.
you might have to make an extra one just called "linux"

now most modern kernel module install scripts look first for a symlink to the current running kernel source
in /lib/modules/x.x.xx/build

this is more accurate as the current running kernel version can be obtained with
/lib/modules/'uname -r'/build
and the user doesn't have to update the "linux" symlink
so that's the best bet if it works

*note* current working kernel headers are different than the /usr/include/linux headers
non-kernel programs are compiled against !

you need to install your kernel source from your install cds. In redhat find something like add/remove programs. Then choose to install all of your developmental suff including the kernel source. You may not need everything, but it is a good ideas to have it installed. Your develpmental stuff will be nessasary if you compile anything in the future.
