Question kernel panic Aiee

I have a SMP AMD machine running Redhat 9. It crashed yesterday and when I rebooted it I got alot of info but this is what appeared last.

code: f2 a6 91 f3 af df 24 39 71 de 36 a4 9d f5 06 4e 00 00 0e 4e
<0> kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
In interrupt handler - not syncing
<1> Unable to handle kernel paging request

Does any one know the meaning of the code or where I can look it up? Also does anyone know about this problem or what I can do to get my machine back online. Thanks.

is this due to USB devices being plugged in when booted.

Someone said they unplugged their usb stuff and it was fine, then just plugged it back in.
