kernel panic
VFS: unable to mount root on fs 03:42
i restarted the computer by clicking alt+ctrl+del, when the linux started, this was what i got. how can i fix it without reinstalling my slackware? |
I think you forgot to compile the right file system in your kernel. Are you using reiser or ext3?
|
neither of them.. i'm using ext2
i've installed slackware again..! why is he so sensitive? i just havn't shut him down right only once and he screws up. why are you a cry-baby???? |
Well, filesystems tend to screw up when the computer is improperly shut down. You could have "rescued" it by using a boot disk (heck, even DemoLinux would do) and running fsck on your ext2 partition(s).
