Kernel OOM killing more than it should
I have a dedicated server that I recently upgraded from fedora core 1 to fedora core 2. Its now using kernel 2.6.9-1 and everything seemed ok. Yesterday when I tried visiting my website it failed on a lookup. After logging into my machine I found that the services named and mysqld were shutdown by the kernel's oom.
The machine that i run is stand alone box running named, mysqld, sshd and apache. I don't run other services, I'm not rooted and I'm the only user that logs in. Before I upgraded I did not run into this problem.
Does anyone have any advise on configuring the kernel's memory manager or even on how to disable this?
