Kernel monitoring tool help

My team is developing a usb device driver for a pcmcia card with usb functionality. We'd like to monitor the memory usage by our device driver at the kernel level.

Is there a tool or application that works in application space but monitors memory in kernel space??
Please help.
We use kernel 2.6.15.4 on fedora core 4.

At that level, you should be able to make use of smaps.

Nothing to download - it's exposed via /proc
Documentation is minimal at present - google is the place to start.

Seems I may have been remiss - perhaps it didn't make it into the mainline until 2.6.16
