I am new to linux, and have to do a project on device drivers. I was trying to patch a small 'hello world' module to the kernel, but after compiling when i use 'insmode' to patch the module, i get an error msg saying that "could not find the kernel version for which the module was compiled". I am using RH9 ver 2.4.20-8 can someone pls tell me wht cud be the problem

there have been loads of threads about this, its normally due to how you compile the module, do a search here and im sure you'll find something.
