kernel install help!!
Hi all. I am only a noob so plz go easy on me. I am trying to compile a new kernel (2.6.8.1) and when i run make modules_install i get this message:
if [ -r System.map ]; then /sbin/depmod -ae -F System.map 2.6.8.1; fi
System is mdk 10.0
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Athlon Xp2600
512Mb Dual DDR Ram
seagate 80 gig
western dig 9.1 gig
Ati 9200

wow, looks like someone removed one of the best threads on this site about installing the kernal. i just did a search for it too and its not in history out to page 5 (about 1/2 the threads)
maybe one of the mods can revive that thread.
