kernel-headers

Just installed Mandrake 9.2 on my old P233. It runs slow, so it is time to recompile the kernel. I have done so in the past, but IIRC I had to install the kernel-headers as an individual pkg. Now based on what I am reading at rpmfind, and in topics posted here, it seems that the kernel-headers are now included with the kernel source. Is this true? How would I verify their existance on my machine, in the source tree?

Thanks,
Ed

It is true and the kernel source is stupidly not included in the download version so it's probably not installed. You have to download it from the distro directory tree which you can find by navigating up in any of the iso download sites. The rpm is called "kernel-source-<kernel version number>". Make sure you get the kernel source that corresponds to your kernel.

Yes. They are no longer separate.
