Kernel Debugger - how

Could any of u say how to debug linux kernel.
I have suse kernel and I've enabled kernel debug modules in kernel hacking section of menuconfig
After booting into the new kernel, how can I debug the kernel. I am unable to find the kdb command. I've written small socket application program and need to step into the kernel code.

for enter to kdb Environment and debug kernel , you should press pause key when reset your computer.
for see kdb command write "Help" in this environment.
