Kernel compiling: gcc-3.3 is 586, should be gcc-3.3 386

Well,
I compiled kernel 2.6.8...
On the boot the whole system flips, saying:
unix: version magic '2.6.8 586 gcc-3.3' should be '2.6.8 386 gcc-3.3'

does anybody have an idea how it shoudl be solved?
I would like to know ;)

Greetz,
Erik
