Kernel 2.6.8 wont boot hangs.

Hi, i just compiled the 2.6.8 kernel on slackware and installed it etc etc, but when i try to boot it it comes up with all this normal txt then says "Processer # 6:8 APIC version 16 ACPI LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x00] high edge Int [0x11]" and hangs on that. What can i do to make it work this is the secound time ive tryed to compile it and its failed but thre differnt error's, i compiled using the xconfig option so its hard to go wrong there i didnt disable anything only added a few things.

Well I think try disabling ACPI support. Since you've not removed anything only added, so I think try removing ACPI support

So i have to compile the kernel again.
