kernel 2.4.26 -> 2.6.9

Okay, i've looked around for quite sometime on the net and LQ and have yet to find a post/site that gives me a straight forward howto on how to update your kernel. I'm running slack 10 with 2.4.26 and would like to update to latest stable 2.6.9. Can anyone offer sane advice? Thanks in advance.

If your running a default Slackware kernel(the one that comes with the install) you might check the /testing folder in the slackware-current/ folder in one of the mirror sites.

Make sure to read the README's, and warnings
