kernel 2.4.18-26 and NVIDIA GeForce3

I'm running Redhat8, and have an NVIDIA GeForce3. I have installed NVIDIA's 1.0-4191 drivers, and was happily playing UT2003.

I just d/l a new kernel 2.4.18-26, and now I cannot start X windows. What I remember doing:

1) rpmbuild --rebuild NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.src.rpm
2) rpm -Uvh NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm
3) altered /etc/X11/XF86Config - changing driver from "nv" to "nvidia"

I re-applied steps 1 and 2. There was no need to modify XF86Config, as I had already done so. Still no video. Am I missing a step?

there's no need to double post, and you need to rebuild NVIDIA_GLX as well along with NVIDIA_kernel when you compile/install new kernel
