[fred@localhost ~]$ uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5.centos.plus #1 SMP Wed Dec 17 10:49:19 EST 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Centos is RHEL with the logos removed (made from same source rpms). Packages(version numbers) from RHEL/Centos are deceptive becuase RH back ports patches into older versions of their packages(making them the equivalent of much newer versions). For instance all version of RHEL5.X will have the the 2.6.18 kernel, but as you can see from the -92 part their kernel has had a lot of patches applied already. Considering we are only on version 5.2 you can imagine how many of those patches will be applied by the time we get to 5.7(in 4? years).

Gcc version 4.1.2. As to the difference between the version in F9 and C5.2, it is effectively minimal. You will probably have to go to the Gcc homepage to find the exact differences.
