Keeping track of logs

I was just wondering what some of you do to monitor active logs. I've been running 'tail -f /path/to/log' on everything that I'm concerned with. What tools do some of you use to watch your log files? I've found a tool called root-tail, and although it looks cool, it doesn't seem to work with FC3 or FC4 very well. Thanks!

For some events I run a bash script periodically from cron. Tail the logfile, grep and awk for something I am interested in, and send an email to myself if I think I should know. I send the email with sendEmail.
