Question Kdump not actually dumping anything

I've followed the instructions on http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Kernel/kdump

I'm using file:///var/crash as the dump area but on a kernel panic it doens't dump anything. What could I be doing wrong? Where do I start looking? I've verified the setup with the http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Kernel/kdump page and other searches on the web but it just doesn't create the dump file.

Any ideas?
