Unhappy KDM Problems

I installed KDE 4.3 and KDM was working fine. I switched over to GDM to check something out. I switched back to KDM and......, GDM is still the display manager. Not sure whats going on here.

Contents of /etc/sysconfig/desktop:
DESKTOP=KDE
DISPLAYMANAGER=kdm

System:
IBM Thinkpad T30
RHEL 3.0
KDE 3.4

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Bill

Thanks masand. That wasn't the answer, or rather was, but did lead me to an alternate answer. prefdm was looking for "$DISPLAYMANAGER" = KDE, not "$DISPLAYMANAGER" = KDM as I had put in the /etc/sysconfig/desktop file. Since prefdm was executable, I decided to change desktop.

Thank you very much!

Regards
Bill R.

BTW; you wouldn't happen to know how to change the font used in the session and system menu's of KDM would you?

hi there
if u have prefdm ,then it is responsible for choosing between gdm and kdm
and if u have gnome installed then it gives priority gdm i think

That did it. KDM is now the default DM. Thanks for your help.

Bill
