kdm and em8300 autocal

I've just been getting my Hollywood plus decorder card with xine under kde. There is a configuration/calibration program which needs to be run after the microcode is loaded each time.. this is called autocal.

I can make this prog run as x starts up that's not a problem.

I have now had to configure the graphical login, it's currently using kdm...
I can make x run the autocal util when a user logs in, but this util takes little while to run and flickers the screen, what i'd like to do is to run autocal as kdm loads, so it is loaded before the user logs in?

Is this possible
