Post kdm 3.1 - SuSe 8

I have SuSe 8 installed on my computer and I had kde 3 installed, I upgraded kde to the newest version 3.1 and started it up (no restart). Then I restarted and kdm came up with none of the options that I had set e.g window managers etc.

So i "init 3"ed and logged in as root and "startx kde", kde started perfect with no problems, I went to control centre and login manager and it was set up just how i had set it up but when kdm starts it dont use those settings.

I was wonderin if they have moved the config file to a different place??
