KDevelop missing compiler?

hi all im currently using FC6 and trying to learn a bit of
C++, but when i go to compile using the KDevelop build button it doesnt do anything, also when i try and compile from the treminal using cc <file.c> it says command not found, what am i missing please!!

/usr/bin/cc is supplied with the gcc package.
However for C++ programs, look for a "gcc-c++" package. It may be also be packaged as "g++" instead.

For C++ compiling you usually run the "g++" command if doing it from the terminal and for C source programs, the "gcc" command.

The gcc and g++ programs are the macro front ends.
