kdevelop compiles but won't run.

kdevelop compiled fine, not a problem. but when I run it I get this error:

exodist@Abydos:~$ kdevelop
kdevelop (core): SPLASH: message=Starting core application
kdevelop (core): SPLASH: message=Loading Settings
kdevelop: relocation error: kdevelop: undefined symbol: _ZN11KMdiMainFrm17setIDEAlModeStyleEi

I am lost... completely... I am not a newbie, been using linux 5yr+ and compile everything from source. I also know enough programming (third quarter student of java, C# and C++, to get the *hint* of the message, but it does not help me to knwo where to look to fix it.
