kdeinit not loading (JAMD w/KDE 3.1 & GRUB 0.93)
During the process of installing and removing some packages with Synaptic, kdeinit somehow got screwed up and now KDE won't load up. When I start my computer, I can get to the GRUB screen, but if I try booting my OS (JAMD Linux (2.4.20-9)), JAMD will go through the text-based startup sequence, but when it attempts to start KDE, the screen flickers between black and black with the hourglass mouse pointer. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
(NOTE: while messing around with Synaptic, I attempted to install the GNOME packages which, for all I know, worked fine. So, theoretically, I have GNOME installed on my box as well as KDE. One thought I had was to get to the command line from GRUB (somehow), load GNOME, and somehow fix my KDE install. Any ideas?) pyrocrickett ================== MSN Messenger/email: pyrocrickett@hotmail.com AIM: pyrocrickett ================== |
anyone?
Does anyone have any ideas?!?! I'm having to use Gnopix just to get online while my comfortable, familiar JAMD setup lies under a shroud of kde brokeness! Help!
