kde windows closing

Sometimes, applications crash and just won't close their windows. Trying to close them with kde doesn't work most of the time. The only possibility is to use xkill or to do a manual kill of the relevant process. Is there anyway to get kde to kill an application that doesn't close after a moment ?

I've never found such an option

kde 3.1.3 on mdk 9.2

I don't believe that such an option exists. I have always used xkill.
