I have just finished compiling GNOME and Xorg X11 and I am having trouble with the mouse of ALL things... I have a serial intellimouse trackball and it doesnt even seem to be detecting it... I think its my kernel but what am I supposed to enable in the configuration to support serial mice.

Oh yea it compiled Xorg as a dependency for gnome

Just wait till you install mozilla or firefox...

I scrapped Gentoo after running it for a few weeks...

hm... it seems as though i added support for ps/2 mice instead of serial mice... oops

have u tried fluxbox its light and its kinda cool, good luck man i got a lappy p4 2.5, 512 ddr, 40 gigs. I am gonna install gentoo this weekend c how long it takes lol

no... im a noob at linux and I decided to start with what my friends like and go from there. But I am having some trouble configuring Xorg. I'm getting some kind of problem with my video card. I have the nVidia RIVA TNT and an onboard SiS 530 card and im getting some kind of problem while initializing video on the RIVA TNT when it is unable to detect some thing on the onboard one
