kde user directory changing

I use many kde apps under fluxbox ( kpdf, digiKam, etc ) and I cannot find where to change the directory that it saves under. By default it uses /tmp/kde-{username} and I would like to change this to something else.

I tried googling and im no kde expert so I was hoping someone could fill me in. If neccesary I might be able to fix up some stuff and load full kde to do it, but i was hoping it was in a config file somewhere.

I don't use KDE (or kdm, for that matter) either, but maybe the stuff
in /etc/kde is what you're looking for?

Code:
$ grep -ri '/tmp' /etc/kde/*
/etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc:#AuthDir=/tmp
/etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc:#FifoDir=/tmp
/etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc:# Default is "/tmp"
/etc/kde/kdm/README:/tmp/package-kdebase/usr/share/config/kdm; this config won't be workable until
/etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc.new:#AuthDir=/tmp
/etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc.new:#FifoDir=/tmp
/etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc.new:# Default is "/tmp"
/etc/kde/kdm/Xsession.orig:    xsess_tmp=`mktemp /tmp/xsess-env-XXXXXX`

Cheers,
Tink

my friend figured it out ...

under ~/.kde is a bunch of symlinks that point to the dirs kde uses to write its tmp files so i changed those and restarted my kde apps and its working
