kde themes

I have upgraded to KDE 3.2 and now in my control center I do not have a theme manager. Any ideas on how I can add themes now?

frieza 02-24-2004 09:13 AM

are you sure it isn't under apperance and themes?

JROCK1980 02-25-2004 11:05 AM

I am positive I have

Backrounds
Color
Fonts
Icons
Launch Feedback
Screensaver
Splash screen
Style
Windows decorations

That is all I have

I think Styles are considered themes

JROCK1980 02-25-2004 05:38 PM

Ok I will look. I do not see where I can add a theme. I will try to look for a style folder under kde or if I have to create one. Any ideas????

CauSTiK 03-03-2004 06:33 PM

JROCK, I have the SAME problem! After I updated to KDE3.2 my "Appearences & Themes" in the "Control Center" has no "Theme Manager!"

Quote:

Backrounds
Color
Fonts
Icons
Launch Feedback
Screensaver
Splash screen
Style
Windows decorations
That's all I have also. It's really strange. Does anyone else with KDE 3.2 have a Theme Manger, or not?

JROCK1980 03-18-2004 05:22 PM

I downloaded the theme but there is no place to apply it too

beejayzed 03-18-2004 11:10 PM

It seems as if in KDE 3.2 there is no theme manager just the seperate theme tools. I never used it though.

JROCK1980 04-13-2004 10:56 PM

Ok I have seen no more post for this. Any ideas on how to get themes to work?

How to install ktheme in KDE without a theme manager

CBlue 04-14-2004 06:45 AM

Click on Control Center and you will see Appearance and Themes. This site provides stuff for KDE 3.2, and gives instructions on how to install the themes in their theme downloads. http://www.kde-look.org/

Diws 04-14-2004 07:04 AM

I want to try this theme.

http://www.kde-look.org/content/down...ent=10518&id=1

below the "How to install"

Install the Theme/Style by either extracting and compiling it, or installing an RPM.
Open the KDE-Menu and start the Control Center.
Select "Look and Feel".
Select "Style" if the package you installed was a style, or select "Theme Manager" if the package you installed was a theme.
Select your theme or style.
Click "Apply"

if its unpacked then you'll see its a ktheme. And i dont see where to install this ktheme because i dont have a theme manager and also not a "look and Feel"

I'm using Suse 9 with KDE 3.1 and this theme is for KDE 3.1

Please help...

CBlue 04-14-2004 03:44 PM

Try this : http://ktown.kde.org/~lukas/kthememanager/

Diws 04-15-2004 05:40 PM

I downloaded the package and did a ./configure at the end i get this message

Good - your configure finished. Start make now

when i type make to compile it then i get this message
