KDE taskbar window switching.

In Windows when you open an app, the app's name remains in the taskbar. So if 5 apps are open all of them show in the taskbar.

In KDE, if you open apps, the app name is no longer in the task bar, but instead are in this tiny menu you have to bring up to select the one to bring on top.

Even weirder, is that if you minimize an app, then it remains in the task bar (which is really what I want, all the time).

Is there a way where all the apps remain shown in the task bar so I can switch quickly without having to resort to the extra step of using the menu. It really is a pain having to go to that menu all the time to switch between apps.

Thanks

Ok....right click at the center of the panel...and click 'Properties'.

Somewhere in the properties, you need to locate a setting called

'Group related applications in the taskbar' (or something similar to that)

If this option is selected, deselect it. All applications will then remain visible in the taskbar.

amit

Your description was close enough. It worked. Thanks.

For anyone interested the actual steps were as follows:

Right click on empty taskbar and select Configure Panel
Select Taskbar Icon
Uncheck "Show only iconified windows"
Optionally you can set Group Similar Tasks
